After his Conservatory study Adjan founded a new jazz workshop,
first at the City School of Music in Arnhem and in Oosterbeek.
He also worked for the students club in Wageningen and later
working together with the School of Music in Dongen.
Nowadays the location is: cultural centre De Poort in Dongen.




This workshop now is a permanent course. Every course lasts
about 3 months with afterwards a presentation-concert for an
audience on the stage of the café Modern in Dongen. During the
years many musicians found that the jazz workshop is an ideal
base for learning to improvise. Members of big bands and other
jazz groups enjoy learning especially jazz timing and -soloing.




Because the jazz workshop is a special course, everyone with an
affinity for jazz music can join, even if you are not an inhabitant of
Dongen. From many parts of the region people come to Dongen for the
lessons in jazz. A lot of members are now permanent players and that's
why the jazz workshop often plays on other occassions during the course.
